iPad 10th generation: iPad 10th generation release date

iPad 10th generation: iPad 10th generation release date. Not only does the fall bring us new iPhones, but also new iPads, and we're still expecting to see a few new iPads for 2022.

iPad 10th generation

Now, starting off with the rumored 10th generation iPad, it looks as if Apple might have a major redesign line dup that could feature a larger 10.5 inch display with slightly thinner bezels, a USB C port, and a flat edge enclosure with a protruding rear camera. The lower cost iPad is still expected to have a Touch ID home button, but recently leaked renders showed the device would have no headphone jack, kind of fitting the rest of the other iPad models. In addition to the redesign, the lower cost iPad is rumored to gain a faster A 14 Bionic chip and for cellular models, other devices with the A14 chip include the 4th generation iPad Air and all four iPhone 12 models.

iPad 10th Gen Launch Date

Apple plans to launch the 10th generation iPad in September, at least according to digit times, but sources cited in the report said that they are also concerned about temporary power restrictions imposed by the Chinese government on factories in China due to a current heat wave. Apple unveiled the 9th generation iPad at its September 2021 event alongside the iPhone Xi, an Apple Watch Series Seven and 6th generation iPad Mini.

iPad 10th Gen Announcement

It has been recently rumored, however, that the 10th generation iPad is set to be announced at an October event, so we'll just have to see if the device ends up being unveiled in September or October of this year. If it does come in October, it would make sense to maybe show them off alongside the potential new iPad Pros. And while there are probably not going to be any major new redesign for the iPad Pro, it will still have a few new interesting features that we can look forward to. Unfortunately, if bringing over the Mini Led display to the 11 inch is something that you're looking forward to seeing, that's probably not going to happen. There were rumors that Apple would also update the 11 inch iPad Pro with the Mini Led display that was introduced last year with a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen because of cost and supply constraints.

Mini Led Display

Apple calls the Mini Led display of the iPad Pro a liquid Retina XDR display that offers improved dynamic range with true to life details, vivid colors, and HDR. This current display in the 12.9 inch iPad Pro uses over 100 LEDs across the back of the display, allowing for up to 10 nits of full screen brightness and 1600 nits of peak brightness and a 1 million to one contrast ratio. Now, display analyst Ross Young has said that the 11 inch iPad Pro won't get that Mini Led upgrade after all because a 12.9 inch iPad is selling well enough that Apple doesn't really need to add Mini Led to the smaller tablet.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has to say about mini-LED displays.

Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo has also said that Mini Led display technology is just too expensive to be added into the 11 inch iPad Pro. Now, we do expect to see the next generation iPad Pro adopt the latest chip, which would be the M2 chip that was just inserted into the latest 13inch MacBook Pro and new M2 MacBook Air. The M2chip features an 8 core CPU and an 8 or 10 core GPU, and it should be a pretty decent performance bump over last year's M1 iPad Pro.

MacSafe Wireless Charging

According to Bloomberg's Mark German, the next generation of the iPad Pro will support MacSafe wireless charging much like the iPhone. Now, Apple could be planning to add a glass back to the entire part of the iPad Pro and has been testing such a feature. But due to concerns about breakability, Apple might instead opt for a larger Apple logo made up of glass that would facilitate the wireless charging. If Apple opts for the glass Apple logo, it would presumably have magnets underneath, and a MacSafe charger would be able to align with those magnets for a quick and easy charging. One of the iPads that Apple is testing is said to have MacSafe with stronger magnets that's inside of the iPhone, and that is also said to allow for faster wireless charging speeds. Along with MacSafe wireless charging, the next generation iPad Pro could also support reverse wireless charging capabilities, which would let the iPad be used to charge other devices like your iPhone Air Pods and other accessories by laying them on the back of the iPad, which this is a feature that other Android phones have had for quite a bit of time.

Battery & 4 pin Connecter

And I guess if Apple wants to try it out, it does make sense to put it on a larger device with a much bigger battery that could support charging all of these other devices. Some rumors also point to a new set of 4 pin connectors at the top and bottom of the device, which would be separate from the already existing smart connector. Now it's not clear why Apple would need to add these new connectors, but some rumors suggest that connectors would assist in powering peripherals that connect to the USB C port.

Apple Pencil

There hasn't been any update to the Apple Pencil in quite some time, and so maybe this would be a good time for Apple to update the popular iPad accessory and perhaps even offer us a new black color option that's been rumored for what I feel like has been forever. Of course, I'd love to know your thoughts on all of these rumors and thoughts about the new iPad ad and the new iPad Pros that should be Coming, hopefully in October of this year.
