cheap cell phones: 5 Reasons You Should Buy Cheap Phones

Cheap Cell Phones

5 Reasons You Should Buy a Cheap Phone If you're looking for a new phone, an important consideration is always budget – you want to buy the best phone you can afford. Even if you have the money for an expensive phone, you should still get a cheap phone.

You see, despite budget phones being weaker than premium phones in quite a few ways (obviously), there are some areas in which they actually beat the top-end models.

So we're going to go through a few different areas where cheap phones actually outperform their pricier rivals.

1. It costs less money

If you spend less on your phone, you'll have more money to spend on the best power banks, phone cases, charging cables, etc. Plus, you've got extras for non-smartphone things. You know: bills, food, transport, etc.

Smartphones work on the principle of diminishing returns: a $400 smartphone isn't twice as good as a $200 one, and a $1,200 phone isn't twice as good as a $600 version or four times as good as a $300 one.

budget mobile will get you there.

2. Much better battery life

Phones sometimes don't have the best battery life: when you consider features like 5G, high refresh rates, top-end processors, etc., a large battery can drain incredibly fast.

But you know what cheap phones don't have?

That's right - any of these features. If a phone is only 4G, has a small screen, and runs only with a mid-range chipset, it uses the battery very slowly. The longest-lasting smartphones are the budget ones.

This is doubly the case when you consider that cheap phone makers like to use big batteries in their phones – plenty of them are 5,000mAh power packs. Motorola has even used 6,000mAh ones in some phones, and some Chinese rugged phone brands have gone even higher.

If you want a long-lasting phone, you have to opt for a cheap handset with less features. It also makes such devices reliable for a longer period of time.

3. harder design

Glass has become one of the most used materials for smartphones - it adds a premium feel to the build and looks great from all angles.

But you know what glass isn't?

Durable. It can easily break on impact like a droplet. It's also slippery, making it difficult to hold a glass phone. Because of this, mid-range and premium phones are more prone to damage, even if brands slap silly marketing terms like 'Gorilla Glass Protection' or 'Ceramic Shield' on them.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy a Cheaper Phone Cheaper phone makers generally stay away from glass. This is mainly due to cost, but it is beneficial for budget phone fans as the plastic is tough.

A plastic phone is much more likely to survive drops or hard knocks, saving you from the experience of having to repair your device often (or hopefully ever).

4. Cooler chipset

Cheaper phones often have cooler chipsets. High-end devices have top-end chipsets, which provide a lot of processing power for games. An annoying side effect of the power load, though, is that these chips can get incredibly hot if you use them for long periods of time.

This means that mid-range chips may be better for gaming if you like to play for longer periods of time, and don't need the highest graphics available.

As you can imagine, budget phones often have underpowered internals, so they usually don't have overheating issues, and are fine for gaming. Also, in this day and age, you rarely find slow phones even in the low-end market.

5. A bigger range of fingerprint scanners

The premium phone market is trending towards in-screen fingerprint scanners, where the sensor is embedded under the display to unlock your phone.

It's a great way to unlock your device for some, but if you prefer a back- or side-mounted scanner, you're probably out of luck at the higher end of the market.

Digital Sensors

Not so for cheap phones, though: you'll find those digital sensors everywhere at the lower end of the market. Some phones have them in the screen, others have them on one or both sides of the phone, while quite a few have the scanner on the back.

So if you want to tap on the back of your phone to unlock it, or caress the side of the device instead of just tapping the screen, budget devices are indeed the best phones for you.
