The iPhone 14 launch event is rumored to take place on September 7, just three weeks away and a week earlier than we'd expect Apple to schedule in previous years. It seems almost certain that there will be four versions of the phone, but not the same four models we've seen in recent years, while the iPhone Pro is expected to have major camera improvements. The rumor of an earlier-than-expected iPhone 14 launch comes from a report by Mark Gorman at Bloomberg (opens in a new tab). They say the launch event will be held on September 7 - Wednesday. That's just a day later than the date suggested in a rumor we heard last week, lending good credence to the idea that the release will be earlier than usual. And it looks like you won't have to wait long to get your hands on the new iPhone 14: they're expected to be available on September 16, which will coincide with the release of iOS 16.

According to Gorman who has a strong track record when it comes to nailing down such Apple details Apple will announce four iPhone 14 models. There will be the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, and of course a super-sized iPhone 14 Pro Max, but there's also a new addition to the line in the form of the iPhone 14 Max, which should be just the thing. The Big Disappointment
The big disappointment for those who prefer Apple's smaller slabs is that, as expected, the arrival of the iPhone 14 Max means there won't be an iPhone 14 Mini.
